# How DashPledge Fundraising Works

## The DashPledge fundraising process

DashPledge helps schools and organizations manage fundraising campaigns while giving teachers, families, students, and supporters an easy way to participate.

A typical DashPledge fundraiser moves through a few simple stages, from setting up the campaign to sharing fundraising pages and tracking progress.

## 1. Your school or organization starts a fundraiser

An authorized organizer creates and manages the fundraising campaign for the school or organization.

The campaign can include information such as:

- Fundraiser name and description
- Fundraising goal
- Start and end dates
- Campaign type
- School or organization information
- Photos and videos
- Participation and sharing options

Depending on the fundraiser, teachers, classrooms, students, and families may also participate.

## 2. Students and teachers are added

For school fundraisers, participating teachers and students can be added to the campaign roster.

Teachers can view students assigned to their classroom and help monitor participation and progress.

Parents or guardians can then connect with their child's fundraiser when invited to participate.

## 3. Parents or guardians claim their child

Parents and guardians can claim an eligible child and connect the child's fundraiser to their DashPledge account.

Once claimed, families can prepare their child's fundraising page, follow progress, and share the fundraiser with friends and relatives.

If more than one child in the family is participating, additional eligible children may also be claimed.

## 4. Fundraising pages are shared

Once a fundraiser is ready, families can share their fundraising page with friends, relatives, and other supporters.

Depending on the campaign, sharing options may include a direct fundraising link or QR code.

Supporters can use the fundraising page to learn about the campaign and make a donation online.

## 5. Supporters make donations

Donors choose the amount they would like to contribute and complete their donation through the fundraiser's secure online payment process.

Depending on the campaign settings, donors may also have options such as donating anonymously or leaving a message of support.

## 6. Participants track their progress

DashPledge helps participants follow the progress of the fundraiser.

Depending on the campaign type, this may include:

- Amount raised
- Fundraising goal progress
- Reading minutes
- Activity or movement progress
- Classroom progress
- Leaderboards
- Achievements or milestones

The features available depend on the type of fundraiser being run.

## 7. Organizers monitor the campaign

Organizers can monitor fundraising activity and campaign performance from their DashPledge dashboard.

This can include donations, fundraising totals, participating students and teachers, campaign progress, and other information related to managing the fundraiser.

## 8. The fundraiser ends and funds are paid out

When the campaign reaches its scheduled end, fundraising activity is finalized according to the campaign's settings.

Eligible funds are paid to the connected organization through the payout account associated with the fundraiser.

Payout timing and availability may depend on payment processing and account requirements.
