# Troubleshooting Campaign Setup and Publishing

## Troubleshooting campaign setup and publishing

If your DashPledge fundraiser isn't publishing correctly, shows the wrong status, is missing campaign information, or doesn't look right on the public fundraiser page, use this guide before creating another campaign.

Most campaign problems should be corrected on the **existing campaign** rather than by submitting or creating a duplicate fundraiser.

## First, confirm you're working with the correct campaign

Sign in to your Organizer Dashboard and open **My Campaigns**.

Confirm the:

- Campaign name
- Organization
- Campaign type
- Status
- Start and end dates

If your organization has multiple campaigns, make sure you're troubleshooting the intended fundraiser.

## My fundraiser request is still waiting for approval

Submitting a fundraiser through **Start Fundraising** does not automatically make the campaign live.

The fundraiser must complete the applicable DashPledge review and approval process.

Do not submit the same fundraiser repeatedly while the original request is pending.

If the request has been waiting unexpectedly, contact DashPledge Support.

## My fundraiser was approved but isn't public

Approval and public availability are related but separate parts of the campaign workflow.

Check the campaign under **My Campaigns** and review its current status.

Then open:

**Fundraiser Admin → Campaign Settings**

Review:

- Campaign Overview
- Campaign Goals & Dates
- Fundraiser Page Settings
- Campaign Health

Use **Preview Fundraiser Page** to see whether the public fundraiser is available.

## My campaign shows Draft

A Draft campaign isn't currently in its active public fundraising stage.

Review the campaign setup and publishing status before expecting supporters to access it.

Do not create another campaign simply because the existing campaign shows Draft.

## My campaign shows Upcoming

An Upcoming campaign is scheduled to begin in the future.

Check:

**Campaign Settings → Campaign Goals & Dates**

and confirm the campaign start date.

If the date is correct, Upcoming may be the expected status.

## My campaign should be Active but isn't

Review:

- Start date
- End date
- Publishing status
- Campaign Health

Make sure the current date falls within the intended campaign period.

If everything is correct but the campaign still doesn't become Active as expected, contact DashPledge Support.

## My campaign shows Ended too early

Check the campaign end date under:

**Campaign Settings → Campaign Goals & Dates**

Make sure the correct date was saved.

If the end date is correct but the fundraiser still appears Ended unexpectedly, contact DashPledge Support.

Do not create a replacement campaign.

## My campaign information is incorrect

Open **Campaign Settings** and review the appropriate section.

Depending on what needs to be corrected, this may include:

- Campaign Overview
- Campaign Goals & Dates
- Activity goals
- Classroom Participation
- Communication Settings
- Fundraiser Page Settings
- Donation Settings

Make the appropriate correction and select **Save Changes**.

## My changes didn't save

First, confirm that you selected **Save Changes** after making the update.

Refresh Campaign Settings and check whether the saved value is still present.

If the change disappears or returns to its previous value, avoid repeatedly changing unrelated settings.

Contact DashPledge Support if the problem continues.

## My changes saved but don't appear on the public page

After saving:

1. Select **Preview Fundraiser Page**.
2. Refresh the public page.
3. Confirm you're viewing the correct campaign.
4. Use **Sync Campaign** when the applicable campaign change requires synchronization.

If the public page still shows outdated information, contact DashPledge Support.

## What does Sync Campaign do?

**Sync Campaign** synchronizes the applicable campaign information with connected DashPledge campaign components.

Use it when appropriate after a campaign change.

Do not repeatedly click Sync Campaign as a general troubleshooting technique.

If one appropriate synchronization doesn't resolve the problem, investigate the underlying issue.

## My campaign banner isn't showing

Confirm that the banner was successfully added to the correct campaign and saved.

Then use **Preview Fundraiser Page**.

If the banner still doesn't appear:

- Refresh the public page
- Confirm you're viewing the correct fundraiser
- Review the saved campaign media

If the issue continues, contact DashPledge Support.

## My featured image isn't showing

Confirm that the featured image is saved to the correct campaign.

Then preview the fundraiser.

If you recently replaced the image, make sure the updated image was successfully saved.

Do not create another campaign simply to replace a missing image.

## My YouTube video isn't showing

Confirm that the correct YouTube information is saved to the campaign.

Then use **Preview Fundraiser Page** to review the public fundraiser.

Depending on the campaign layout, the video may be used in the campaign's media area.

If the saved video doesn't appear, contact DashPledge Support.

## My donor message or campaign message isn't showing

Review the campaign content and Fundraiser Page Settings.

Make sure the message was saved to the correct campaign.

Then preview the fundraiser again.

If the information exists in Campaign Settings but isn't reaching the public page, contact DashPledge Support.

## My donation options don't look correct

Open:

**Campaign Settings → Donation Settings**

Review the available donation configuration.

Depending on the campaign, this can include options related to:

- Suggested donation amounts
- Anonymous donations
- Donor comments
- Receipts

After making an appropriate change, save it and preview the fundraiser.

## My Read-a-thon settings are missing

Make sure the fundraiser is actually configured as a **Read-a-thon**.

Read-a-thon campaigns can include reading-specific features such as Reading Goals and reading-minute tracking.

If the campaign type is incorrect, don't attempt to recreate those features manually through unrelated settings.

Contact DashPledge Support if the campaign was provisioned with the wrong type.

## My Move-a-thon activity settings are missing

Confirm that the campaign is configured as a **Move-a-thon**.

Move-a-thon activity features should use the activity configuration appropriate for that campaign.

If the fundraiser has the wrong campaign type, contact DashPledge Support rather than creating a duplicate fundraiser.

## My teachers or students aren't connected

Open:

**Fundraiser Admin → Fundraiser Participants**

Review the participant relationships for the campaign.

Check the participating:

- Teachers
- Students
- Classrooms

Do not create duplicate participants simply because someone doesn't appear where expected.

## Parents can't find their children

Parent claiming depends on accurate fundraiser participant relationships.

Review the school, teacher, and student information associated with the campaign.

If the roster appears correct but parents still cannot locate eligible children, contact DashPledge Support.

## Student mini-fundraisers aren't appearing

A student being part of the roster does not automatically mean their public mini-fundraiser is already available.

The child may still need to be:

- Claimed by a parent or guardian
- Prepared for publishing
- Successfully published

Check the student's claim and fundraiser status before creating another student.

## My Global Leaderboard looks wrong

Open:

**Fundraiser Admin → Global Leaderboard**

Then review the underlying participant and activity information.

For activity-based campaigns, check:

- Student assignments
- Classroom relationships
- Activity totals
- Activity dates

Do not create artificial activity to correct a leaderboard position.

## Campaign Health shows a problem

Open:

**Fundraiser Admin → Campaign Settings → Campaign Health**

Review the issue shown there.

Campaign Health can help identify problems related to campaign readiness, publishing, or connected campaign functionality.

Resolve the identified issue before changing unrelated campaign settings.

## Campaign Health says everything is okay, but the page is still wrong

If Campaign Health is clear but the public fundraiser still doesn't match the saved campaign information:

1. Confirm the changes were saved.
2. Preview the fundraiser.
3. Perform an appropriate Sync Campaign when required.
4. Refresh the public page.

If the discrepancy remains, contact DashPledge Support.

## Preview Fundraiser Page doesn't work

Confirm that the campaign has reached the appropriate setup and publishing state.

If Preview Fundraiser Page doesn't open or displays an error, don't create another campaign.

Take a screenshot of the error and contact DashPledge Support.

## The public fundraiser URL doesn't work

Open the fundraiser from **My Campaigns → View**.

If the campaign's own View action doesn't open the expected page, review Campaign Health and publishing status.

Do not manually create another public page to replace the missing fundraiser.

## The campaign was edited and now there are duplicate pages

Editing an existing campaign should update the existing campaign experience rather than require another fundraiser.

Do not continue editing multiple duplicate pages independently.

Contact DashPledge Support so the campaign and public-page relationships can be reviewed.

## Should I use the Danger Zone to fix a campaign?

Usually, **no**.

The Danger Zone can include significant actions such as:

- Close
- Archive
- Move to Trash

These actions are not general troubleshooting tools.

Do not close, archive, or trash a campaign simply because an image, status, setting, or public page is incorrect.

## Should I delete and recreate the campaign?

Usually, no.

Recreating a campaign can affect or duplicate:

- Campaign records
- Public fundraiser pages
- Participants
- Student fundraisers
- Donations
- Activity
- Sharing links
- QR codes
- Reports

Correct the existing campaign whenever possible.

## What information should I provide to Support?

For campaign setup or publishing problems, helpful information includes:

- Organization
- Campaign name
- Campaign type
- Current campaign status
- Expected status
- Start and end dates
- What information is missing or incorrect
- Whether Preview Fundraiser Page works
- Campaign Health status
- Error message, when applicable
- Screenshot, when helpful

Specific information helps Support identify the affected campaign without creating duplicate records.

## What should I avoid doing?

While a campaign issue is being investigated, avoid:

- Submitting duplicate fundraiser requests
- Creating another campaign
- Creating replacement public pages
- Repeatedly using Sync Campaign
- Deleting participants
- Recreating students or teachers
- Using Danger Zone actions as troubleshooting
- Changing unrelated campaign settings

Preserving the existing campaign relationships makes the problem safer to diagnose.
