# Understanding DashPledge User Roles

## Understanding roles in DashPledge

DashPledge provides different accounts and tools depending on how you participate in a fundraiser.

Your role determines which dashboard, information, and actions are available to you.

The main DashPledge roles are **Organizer, Teacher, Parent or Guardian, and Donor**.

## Organizer

Organizers manage the overall fundraiser for a school or organization.

Depending on their permissions and campaign setup, organizers can:

- View and manage fundraising campaigns
- Monitor donations and fundraising progress
- Manage participating teachers and students
- Review campaign activity
- View reports
- Manage payout information
- Update organization and campaign settings

Organizers are responsible for overseeing the fundraiser rather than managing an individual student's fundraising page.

## Teacher

Teachers participate in school fundraisers by helping manage their assigned students and classroom activity.

Depending on the campaign type, teachers may be able to:

- View assigned students
- Monitor student participation
- Log or review activity
- Track classroom progress
- View leaderboards
- Monitor fundraising totals

For a read-a-thon, for example, teachers may help track reading minutes and classroom progress.

Available features may vary depending on the fundraiser.

## Parent or Guardian

Parents and guardians connect participating children to their DashPledge account.

Depending on the campaign, parents and guardians may be able to:

- Claim an eligible child
- Manage their child's fundraising page
- Add or update fundraiser information
- Track fundraising progress
- Track activity or milestones
- Share the fundraiser with friends and family
- Access fundraising links and QR codes
- Manage more than one participating child from the same account

A separate parent account is generally not needed for each participating child.

## Donor or Supporter

Donors and supporters contribute to fundraisers through public DashPledge fundraising pages.

Depending on the fundraiser settings, donors may be able to:

- Choose a donation amount
- Support a school, organization, or participating fundraiser
- Leave a message of support
- Donate anonymously
- Receive confirmation of their donation

Donors do not receive access to private student, classroom, or organizer information.

## Can I have more than one role?

In some situations, a person may participate in DashPledge in more than one capacity.

For example, someone may be connected to a fundraiser as a parent while also having responsibilities with a school or organization.

Available access depends on the roles and permissions associated with the account.

You should use your existing DashPledge account when possible instead of creating duplicate accounts.

## Why don't I see the same dashboard as someone else?

DashPledge displays tools based on your account role and the fundraiser you're connected to.

For example, a teacher may see classroom and student tools that aren't available on a parent dashboard. An organizer may see campaign, donation, payout, and reporting tools that aren't available to teachers or parents.

This is normal and helps ensure users only have access to the information and tools appropriate for their role.

## What if my role or access looks incorrect?

If you're seeing the wrong dashboard, missing expected features, or believe your account is connected to the wrong role, don't create another account to try to correct it.

First, sign out and confirm you're using the correct DashPledge account.

If the problem continues, visit **Accounts & Login** or **Troubleshooting** for additional help.
