# Understanding Stripe Verification Requirements

## Understanding Stripe verification

Stripe may require your organization or an authorized representative to provide information before payments and payouts can be fully enabled.

Verification helps Stripe confirm information about the organization receiving fundraiser proceeds and meet applicable payment and financial requirements.

You can review your Stripe connection from:

**Settings → Payout Setup**

and use **Open Stripe** when Stripe requires additional information.

## Why does Stripe require verification?

Stripe processes payments and payouts for DashPledge fundraisers.

As part of that service, Stripe may need to verify information related to:

- Your organization
- Authorized representatives
- Identity
- Contact information
- Banking information
- Payout eligibility
- Other account requirements

The exact requirements are determined by Stripe and can vary by connected account.

## Where can I check my Stripe status?

Sign in to your DashPledge Organizer Dashboard.

Then:

1. Select **Settings**.
2. Select **Payout Setup**.
3. Review **Stripe Connect**.
4. Check whether payments and payouts are enabled.
5. Select **Open Stripe** if additional information is required.

The Stripe Connect section gives you a quick view of the connection, while Stripe provides the detailed account requirements.

## What does Connected mean?

**Connected** means DashPledge has an established connection to your organization's Stripe account.

However, Connected does not necessarily mean that every Stripe requirement has been permanently completed.

Stripe can request additional information later if account or regulatory requirements change.

## How do I know if payments are enabled?

The Stripe Connect area can display whether your connected account is currently enabled for payments.

If payments aren't enabled, open Stripe and review any outstanding requirements.

## How do I know if payouts are enabled?

Your Payout Setup page can indicate whether payouts are enabled for the connected account.

You may also see **Payouts Enabled** in the Bank Account section.

If payouts aren't enabled, use **Open Stripe** to review the account requirements.

## What information might Stripe request?

Depending on your organization and connected account, Stripe may request information about the organization or an authorized representative.

The exact fields and documents requested should be taken from the Stripe onboarding or verification experience displayed to you.

Follow Stripe's instructions rather than sending verification information through ordinary DashPledge support messages.

## Why is Stripe asking for information about a person?

Stripe may need to verify an individual associated with the organization as part of its account-verification process.

The person completing the request should be an appropriate authorized representative of the organization.

If you're unsure who should provide the information, confirm with your organization's authorized leadership before proceeding.

## Why is Stripe asking for organization information?

Stripe may need information about the entity receiving and managing fundraiser proceeds.

Provide accurate organization information through the secure Stripe experience.

Incorrect information can delay verification, payment processing, or payouts.

## Why is Stripe asking for banking information?

Stripe needs an eligible payout destination to send available fundraiser proceeds.

Banking information should be entered through Stripe's secure connected-account experience.

Never send complete banking credentials through an ordinary DashPledge support message.

## Can I skip verification?

If Stripe marks information as required, DashPledge cannot simply bypass the requirement.

The appropriate authorized representative should complete the required information through Stripe.

Outstanding requirements can affect payment or payout functionality.

## Can I continue fundraising while verification is incomplete?

Payment or payout availability depends on the connected Stripe account's current status and requirements.

Do not assume that every payment or payout feature will remain available while required information is outstanding.

Review the status shown in Payout Setup and Open Stripe for the current account requirements.

## What happens if I don't complete a required verification?

Unresolved Stripe requirements can affect the connected account.

Depending on the requirement, this may affect:

- Payment processing
- Payout availability
- Account functionality

Follow Stripe's instructions promptly when required information is requested.

## Why is Stripe asking again after I already completed verification?

Stripe can request additional or updated information after initial onboarding.

This may happen when:

- Account information changes
- Banking information changes
- Existing information needs additional verification
- Stripe identifies a new account requirement

An account being previously verified does not guarantee that Stripe will never request information again.

## What should I do after completing a Stripe requirement?

After completing the requested information in Stripe:

1. Return to DashPledge.
2. Open **Settings → Payout Setup**.
3. Select **Refresh Connection** when appropriate.
4. Review Stripe Connect status.
5. Review the Bank Account status.
6. Confirm whether payments and payouts are enabled.

If the requirement still appears unresolved, reopen Stripe and review the account.

## What does Refresh Connection do?

**Refresh Connection** updates the Stripe connection information displayed in DashPledge.

It is useful after completing verification or making an appropriate connected-account change.

Refresh Connection does not bypass Stripe verification and does not create another Stripe account.

## Should I disconnect Stripe and reconnect it?

Usually, no.

Do not use **Disconnect** as a general solution to a verification problem.

Disconnecting can affect your organization's payment and payout connection.

Instead:

1. Open Stripe.
2. Review the requirement.
3. Complete the requested information.
4. Return to Payout Setup.
5. Refresh the connection.

If the problem remains, contact DashPledge Support.

## Should I create another Stripe account?

Do not create another connected account simply because the existing account has a verification requirement.

Doing so can create unnecessary account and payout complications.

Resolve the requirements on the appropriate connected account whenever possible.

## What if the wrong organization is connected?

Stop before submitting additional financial or verification information.

Contact DashPledge Support so the organization and Stripe relationship can be reviewed.

Do not disconnect or create another account unless the appropriate support process determines that is necessary.

## Who should have access to Stripe?

Stripe access should be limited to authorized organization representatives responsible for payment and payout administration.

Parents, students, and teachers do not need Stripe access for ordinary fundraiser participation.

## Do parents need Stripe verification?

No.

Parents do not receive the fundraiser proceeds directly through their child's student mini-fundraiser.

Student fundraising pages remain financially connected to the school or organization's campaign.

## Do students need Stripe verification?

No.

Students don't receive fundraiser payouts directly and do not need their own connected Stripe accounts.

## Do teachers need Stripe verification?

No.

Teachers use DashPledge classroom tools and don't need individual Stripe payout accounts for normal fundraiser participation.

## What should I never send to DashPledge Support?

Never send:

- Stripe passwords
- Online banking passwords
- Full payment card numbers
- Card security codes
- Complete banking credentials
- Login verification codes
- Other account passwords

If Stripe requests sensitive information, provide it through the secure Stripe experience rather than through ordinary support messages.

## What if Stripe asks for a document?

Follow the secure upload or verification instructions provided directly by Stripe.

Do not send sensitive identity or financial documents through an ordinary DashPledge support message unless DashPledge or Stripe specifically provides an approved secure process for that purpose.

## What if I don't understand a Stripe requirement?

Open Stripe and review the explanation associated with the requirement.

If you still need help, contact DashPledge Support and describe the requirement shown on the screen.

A screenshot can be helpful, but remove or cover sensitive personal and financial information before sharing it.

## What if verification is complete but payouts still aren't working?

Review:

**Settings → Payout Setup**

Check:

- Stripe Connect status
- Available Balance
- Pending Balance
- Bank Account status
- Payout Schedule
- Recent Payouts

Then use **Open Stripe** to check for additional account notices.

If everything appears ready but payouts still aren't working, contact DashPledge Support.
