# Understanding Your Child’s Achievements and Rewards

## Achievements and rewards in DashPledge

Some DashPledge fundraisers recognize students as they reach participation or fundraising milestones.

Achievements help students and families celebrate progress throughout the campaign and can encourage continued participation.

The achievements available depend on the type of fundraiser and the milestones configured for the campaign.

## Where can I see my child’s achievements?

Sign in to your DashPledge parent or guardian account and select the participating child.

Your child's dashboard can display earned achievements and progress toward available milestones.

If you have multiple children participating, achievements are tracked separately for each child.

## How does my child earn an achievement?

Achievements can be awarded when a child reaches an eligible milestone during the fundraiser.

Depending on the campaign, milestones may be based on:

- Fundraising progress
- Amount raised
- Reading minutes
- Activity progress
- Participation goals
- Other campaign-specific accomplishments

Not every fundraiser uses the same milestones.

## Reading achievements

During a Read-a-thon, students may earn achievements as their recorded reading minutes increase.

Make sure reading activity is logged accurately so your child's progress reflects the reading they have completed.

Visit **How to Log Reading Minutes for Your Child** for instructions.

## Fundraising achievements

Some achievements may be based on fundraising progress.

As eligible donations are associated with your child's fundraiser, their fundraising total can move toward available milestones.

Fundraising achievements are separate from activity achievements such as reading-minute milestones.

## When will an achievement appear?

When your child reaches an eligible milestone, DashPledge can recognize the achievement and display it with the child's progress information.

If you believe your child reached a milestone but the achievement doesn't appear, refresh the dashboard and verify that the related fundraising or activity total is correct.

## What are achievement certificates?

Some DashPledge milestones may include a personalized certificate recognizing the student's accomplishment.

When a certificate is available, it can include information related to the achievement, such as:

- Student name
- Achievement or milestone
- Campaign information
- Recognition message

Certificate availability depends on the fundraiser and milestone.

## Can my child earn more than one achievement?

Yes. A child may earn multiple achievements as they reach different milestones during an eligible campaign.

For example, reaching an early milestone doesn't necessarily prevent the student from earning additional recognition later in the fundraiser.

## Are achievements the same for every child?

The available milestone structure may be shared across participating students, but each child's achievements are based on their own eligible progress.

One child's achievement does not automatically give the same achievement to another child.

## Are achievements the same as classroom rankings?

No.

**Achievements** recognize a child's progress toward specific milestones.

**Leaderboards or rankings** compare eligible progress among participating students or classrooms when those features are enabled.

A child can earn an achievement regardless of their leaderboard position.

## Do achievements affect donations or payouts?

No. Achievements are recognition for participation or progress.

They do not change donation amounts, payment processing, or the organization's payout.

## What if an achievement looks incorrect?

First, check the progress associated with the achievement.

For example, if the achievement is based on reading minutes, confirm that your child's reading total is correct. If it's based on fundraising, review the fundraising progress shown for the child.

If the underlying progress is incorrect, correct that issue first when possible.

If the progress is correct but the achievement still appears incorrectly, visit **Troubleshooting** for additional help.

## Can achievements be shared?

If DashPledge provides sharing or certificate options for an achievement, you can use the available tools to celebrate your child's accomplishment.

When sharing anything related to your child's fundraiser, continue to follow the privacy preferences established for your family and campaign.

## What's next?

Continue tracking your child's activity and fundraising progress throughout the campaign.
