Refund Policy

Clear guidance for donors and fundraiser organizations about refund requests, processing timelines, disputes, and payment reversals.

Effective Date: August 21, 2026
Donations are generally final once processed.

Refunds may be available in certain circumstances, including duplicate or mistaken donations, when approved by the applicable fundraiser organization, or when required by law.

01

Donations and General Refund Policy

Donations made through DashPledge LLC are voluntary contributions to the fundraiser identified on the applicable donation page and are generally final once processed.

DashPledge does not guarantee that every donation can be refunded. Whether a refund is available may depend on the circumstances of the donation, the applicable fundraiser organization, the status of the funds, payment processor requirements, and applicable law.

02

When a Refund May Be Requested

A donor may request a refund when, for example:

  • A donation was made in error or for an incorrect amount.
  • A duplicate donation was processed.
  • The donor believes a transaction was unauthorized.
  • The applicable fundraiser organization agrees that a refund is appropriate.
  • A refund is otherwise required by applicable law.

Submitting a request does not guarantee approval.

03

How to Request a Refund

Donors should contact the applicable fundraiser organization or DashPledge as soon as reasonably possible after discovering an issue with a donation.

To help locate the transaction, a refund request should include, when available:

  • Donor name and email address.
  • Donation date and amount.
  • Name of the fundraiser, school, team, or organization.
  • Transaction or donation reference information.
  • A brief explanation of the reason for the request.

Do not send full credit card numbers or other sensitive payment credentials by email.

04

Refund Review and Approval

Refund requests may be reviewed by the applicable fundraiser organization and, where appropriate, facilitated through DashPledge and its payment processor.

Approval may depend on the reason for the request, whether sufficient funds remain available, whether funds have already been paid out, payment processor restrictions, fraud or risk considerations, and applicable legal requirements.

DashPledge does not guarantee that every refund request will be approved.

05

DashPledge’s Role

DashPledge LLC provides the technology used to process and manage donations. DashPledge may assist with transaction review, communication, and the technical processing of an approved refund through the applicable payment processor.

The fundraiser organization remains responsible for its fundraiser and use of fundraiser proceeds. DashPledge may also take action when reasonably necessary to address fraud, payment disputes, processor requirements, security concerns, or legal obligations.

06

Refund Processing and Timing

When a refund is approved and successfully submitted, the payment processor sends the refund back to the donor’s original payment method where supported.

Refunds are not always immediate. The time required for a refund to appear may depend on the payment processor, card network, donor’s bank or financial institution, weekends, holidays, and other processing factors outside DashPledge’s control.

07

Partial Refunds

Where supported by the payment processor and appropriate under the circumstances, a transaction may be eligible for a full or partial refund.

The amount approved for refund may depend on the fundraiser organization’s authorization, available funds, payment processor capabilities, and applicable requirements.

08

Funds Already Paid Out

If fundraiser proceeds have already been transferred or paid out to the applicable organization or connected payment account, a refund may require sufficient funds to be available through that account or another method permitted by the payment processor.

A completed payout does not necessarily prevent a refund, but it may affect how or when the refund can be processed.

09

Processing Fees and Voluntary DashPledge Tips

Payment processing fees are determined by the applicable payment processor and may be subject to that provider’s refund rules. Some processing fees may not be returned when a donation is refunded.

If a donor included a voluntary tip to DashPledge with a donation, the treatment of that tip in connection with a refund may depend on the transaction, the type of refund requested, payment processor capabilities, and applicable law.

Any refund confirmation will reflect the amount actually submitted for refund. Donors with questions about a specific transaction may contact DashPledge for assistance.

10

Chargebacks, Disputes, and Unauthorized Charges

A chargeback or payment dispute is different from a standard refund request. If a donor disputes a charge through a bank, card issuer, or payment provider, the payment processor may place funds on hold, reverse a transaction, assess fees, or request supporting information.

These actions may reduce funds available to the applicable fundraiser organization.

If you believe a DashPledge transaction was unauthorized, contact DashPledge promptly. You may also need to contact your bank, card issuer, or payment provider.

11

Student Fundraiser Donations

Student fundraiser pages are participation pages connected to the applicable school or organization fundraiser. A donation associated with a student’s page is generally made for the benefit of the underlying school, organization, or fundraiser and is not a payment made directly to the student.

Refund requests involving a student fundraiser are therefore handled in connection with the applicable school or organization fundraiser and its payment account.
