Personalizing your child’s fundraiser #
After claiming your child, you can prepare their fundraising page before sharing it with friends and family.
Personalizing the page helps supporters understand who they are supporting and why the fundraiser is important.
The options available may depend on your school’s campaign settings.
1. Open your child’s fundraiser #
Sign in to your DashPledge parent or guardian account.
From your dashboard, select the child whose fundraiser you want to manage.
If you have more than one participating child, make sure you select the correct child before making changes.
2. Review the fundraiser information #
Your child’s fundraiser is connected to the school’s overall campaign.
Some campaign information is managed by the school or fundraiser organizer and may already appear on the page.
Review the available information before adding your child’s personalized content.
3. Add a fundraiser story or message #
When available, you can add a personal message explaining your child’s participation in the fundraiser.
A good fundraiser message can be simple and personal.
For example:
I’m participating in my school’s fundraiser! Thank you for supporting me and helping our school reach its goal.
You can personalize the message based on your child and the type of fundraiser.
Avoid including private information such as home addresses, phone numbers, personal schedules, or other sensitive details.
4. Add or update a photo #
If the campaign allows student photos, you may be able to upload a photo for your child’s fundraising page.
Choose an appropriate image that you’re comfortable having displayed according to the fundraiser’s visibility settings.
If student photos are disabled for the campaign, the photo option may not be available or the image may not appear publicly.
5. Review your child’s fundraising goal #
Depending on the campaign, your child may have an individual fundraising goal.
The fundraising page can show progress toward that goal as donations are received.
The child’s individual goal is separate from the overall fundraising goal established for the school or organization.
6. Preview the fundraiser #
Before publishing or sharing the fundraiser, review the page carefully.
Check that:
- Your child’s information is correct
- The fundraiser story looks right
- The correct photo appears, when enabled
- The fundraising information is accurate
- The page does not contain information you don’t want shared publicly
Correct any available information before continuing.
7. Publish the fundraiser #
When the fundraiser is ready, follow the available instructions to publish it.
Publishing makes the child’s fundraising page available through its public fundraiser link.
Once successfully published, the page can be shared with supporters.
What happens after I publish? #
After your child’s fundraiser is successfully published, DashPledge may send you a confirmation email with information for sharing the fundraiser.
Depending on your account and participating children, this can include:
- Your child’s fundraiser
- Current fundraising or activity progress
- A link to share the fundraising page
- A QR code for the child’s fundraiser
- An option to claim another eligible child, when applicable
Can I edit the fundraiser after publishing? #
Available fundraiser information may be editable after publication.
If you update your child’s personalized fundraiser information, review the public page afterward to make sure the changes appear correctly.
Some campaign-controlled information can only be changed by the school or fundraiser organizer.
Why can’t I change some information? #
Certain information belongs to the overall school campaign rather than the individual child fundraiser.
For example, the organizer may control:
- Campaign name
- Campaign dates
- School fundraising goal
- Campaign description
- Campaign media
- Privacy settings
- Participation settings
Parents can only modify the information made available for their child’s fundraiser.
What information should I avoid adding? #
Do not add sensitive or unnecessary personal information to a public fundraising page.
Avoid sharing information such as:
- Home address
- Personal phone numbers
- Passwords
- Private account information
- Detailed schedules or locations
- Payment information
For more information, visit Privacy & Security.
What’s next? #
