Managing fundraiser participants #
Fundraiser Participants gives authorized organizers a central place to review the teachers and students participating in a DashPledge fundraiser.
Participant information is connected to the fundraiser roster and is used throughout DashPledge for classroom assignments, parent claiming, student fundraisers, activity tracking, leaderboards, and campaign reporting.
How to open Fundraiser Participants #
Sign in to your DashPledge Organizer Dashboard.
From the main navigation:
- Select Fundraiser Admin.
- Select Fundraiser Participants.
- Make sure you’re viewing the correct fundraiser.
The page will display the participant information available for that campaign.
Understanding teachers #
Teachers participating in the fundraiser can be associated with their school, classroom, and assigned students.
Teacher relationships are important because they help DashPledge determine which students appear in each Teacher Dashboard and which teacher parents select when locating their child.
Understanding students #
Students participating in the fundraiser are associated with the campaign roster.
Depending on the campaign, student information can be used for:
- Parent or guardian claiming
- Classroom assignment
- Individual student fundraisers
- Activity tracking
- Fundraising progress
- Achievements and milestones
- Leaderboards
Each participating student should have one accurate student record rather than duplicate records.
What does Claimed mean? #
A Claimed student has been successfully connected to an eligible parent or guardian account.
After claiming, the family can access the parent tools available for that child.
Depending on the fundraiser, this can include personalizing, publishing, and sharing the child’s fundraising page.
What does Unclaimed mean? #
An Unclaimed student is already part of the fundraiser roster but hasn’t yet been connected to a parent or guardian account.
An unclaimed student is not necessarily an error.
Families may simply not have completed the claim process yet.
Do not create another student record because an existing student is unclaimed.
How do parents find their child? #
During the parent claiming process, DashPledge uses the fundraiser’s participant relationships to help the parent locate the appropriate child.
The parent may be guided through information such as:
- School
- Teacher
- Child
Accurate teacher and student relationships are therefore important to the parent signup and claiming experience.
What if a student is assigned to the wrong teacher? #
Do not create another copy of the student.
The existing student’s teacher or classroom relationship should be corrected using the appropriate organizer or roster-management tools.
Duplicate student records can cause problems with:
- Parent claiming
- Fundraising pages
- Donations
- Activity totals
- Achievements
- Leaderboards
- Reporting
What if a student is missing? #
First, confirm that you’re viewing the correct:
- Organization
- Campaign
- Teacher or classroom
- Participant list
If the student should participate but isn’t present, review the fundraiser roster using the available organizer tools.
Do not create duplicate records when you’re unsure whether the student already exists.
What if a teacher is missing? #
Confirm that the teacher is associated with the correct school and fundraiser.
If the teacher should be participating but doesn’t appear, review the campaign roster and teacher information.
A missing or incorrect teacher relationship can also prevent parents from locating their child during the claim process.
What if a participant appears more than once? #
Do not continue creating or editing duplicate records independently.
Duplicate teachers or students should be reviewed and corrected carefully because other DashPledge records may already be connected to one of them.
If you’re unsure which record is correct, contact DashPledge Support before deleting anything.
Can organizers claim a child for a parent? #
The normal child-claim process is completed by the eligible parent or guardian through their DashPledge account.
Organizers should manage the campaign roster and participant information rather than claiming students on behalf of families.
Can organizers edit a parent’s fundraiser? #
Parents and guardians manage the personalized portions of their child’s fundraiser when those options are available.
Organizer controls apply to the overall campaign and participant relationships.
The exact actions available depend on your permissions and the campaign configuration.
How does participant information affect Read-a-thon campaigns? #
For a Read-a-thon, participant relationships help DashPledge associate reading activity with the correct:
- Student
- Teacher
- Classroom
- Campaign
Accurate participant information is important for reading totals, achievements, classroom progress, and leaderboards.
How does participant information affect Move-a-thon campaigns? #
For a Move-a-thon, participant relationships help associate eligible movement or activity with the appropriate student, classroom, and campaign.
The specific activity measurement depends on how the Move-a-thon is configured.
How does participant information affect leaderboards? #
Eligible student activity can contribute to student, classroom, or campaign-wide leaderboard information when leaderboards are enabled.
Incorrect participant relationships can therefore affect which classroom receives activity credit or where a student appears.
Protecting participant information #
Fundraiser Participants can contain information that isn’t intended for public display.
Only use participant information for legitimate fundraiser-management purposes.
Public student information should follow the campaign’s privacy settings and available family privacy controls.
Visit Privacy & Security for additional information.
What if I need help correcting participant information? #
If you cannot safely correct a participant using the available organizer tools, contact DashPledge Support.
When requesting assistance, provide enough information to identify the problem, such as the school, fundraiser, teacher, and affected student.
Do not send passwords or other sensitive account credentials.
