Updating your account information #
Your DashPledge account contains information associated with your access to the platform.
Depending on your role and permissions, you may be able to update certain account or profile information from your dashboard.
Some information related to your school, organization, classroom, participating children, or fundraiser is managed separately and should not be changed simply by editing your personal account.
Sign in to your account #
Sign in to DashPledge using your existing account.
Make sure you’re using the correct account before making any changes, especially if you have previously used more than one email address.
Open your account settings #
Use the available Settings, profile, or account-management option for your DashPledge role.
The settings available can differ between:
- Organizers
- Teachers
- Parents and guardians
Only change information you are authorized to manage.
What account information can I update? #
The information available for editing depends on your account.
When an applicable field is available, you may be able to manage information such as:
- Name
- Contact information
- Profile information
- Account preferences
- Notification preferences
The exact options displayed depend on your role and the DashPledge features available to your account.
Updating your name #
If your account provides an editable name field, enter the correct information and save your changes.
Updating your personal account name should not be used to rename:
- A school
- An organization
- A teacher record belonging to someone else
- A student
- A campaign
Those records have their own management workflows.
Updating your email address #
Your email address is important because DashPledge may use it for:
- Account access
- Password recovery
- Fundraiser communications
- Campaign notifications
- Account-related messages
If DashPledge provides an option to change your account email, make sure the new address is one you can access.
Review the change carefully before saving it.
What if I no longer have access to my current email? #
If you cannot access the email address associated with your account and cannot safely update it through the available account controls, contact DashPledge Support.
Do not create another account simply because your email address changed.
Your existing account may already be connected to important fundraiser relationships.
Will changing my email remove my children? #
Changing account contact information should not be used to recreate your parent-child relationships.
Your participating children should remain associated with the appropriate parent account relationship.
If a child disappears after an account change, contact DashPledge Support rather than claiming or creating the child again.
Will changing my information remove my students? #
If you’re a teacher, updating ordinary account information should not require recreating your teacher or student records.
Your school, classroom, and student relationships are managed separately from ordinary account profile information.
If your Teacher Dashboard changes unexpectedly after an account update, contact Support.
Will changing my information affect my campaigns? #
If you’re an organizer, ordinary personal account updates should not be used to recreate your organization or campaigns.
Your campaign relationships and organizer permissions are managed separately.
If expected campaigns disappear, check that you’re signed in to the correct account and contact Support if necessary.
How do organizers update organization information? #
Organization information is separate from an organizer’s personal account information.
Authorized organizers should use the appropriate Settings area for organization-level information when those controls are available.
Do not change your personal name or profile information in an attempt to rename the organization.
How do organizers update campaign information? #
Campaign information is managed through the appropriate campaign tools.
Depending on the setting, this can include:
Fundraiser Admin → Campaign Settings
Use Campaign Settings for campaign-specific configuration rather than changing your personal account information.
Can parents change their child’s information from Account Settings? #
A parent’s account settings and a child’s fundraiser information are separate.
Use the available parent and child fundraiser tools when managing your child’s fundraiser.
Do not change your own profile information in an attempt to change the child’s fundraiser.
Can teachers change student information from their account settings? #
No.
A teacher’s personal account settings should not be used to modify student records.
Student and classroom relationships are managed through the appropriate fundraiser and roster workflows.
Updating notification preferences #
When notification preferences are available, use the applicable account or campaign settings to manage the communications you receive.
Some messages may be related to important account, security, transaction, or campaign activity and may be handled differently from optional communications.
Does changing my DashPledge account change my Stripe account? #
No.
Your DashPledge account and your organization’s connected Stripe account have separate account-management functions.
For Stripe and payout information, authorized organizers should use:
Settings → Payout Setup
Do not change personal DashPledge information as a way to modify Stripe banking or payout information.
How do I change my payout bank information? #
Authorized organizers should use:
Settings → Payout Setup → Bank Account → Manage Bank
Sensitive banking information should be managed through the secure connected-account experience.
Never place banking credentials in ordinary DashPledge profile fields.
Can I change my DashPledge role? #
Your role controls important permissions and dashboard access.
Do not change or create another account simply to obtain another role.
If you believe your role is incorrect or you’re missing access you should have, contact DashPledge Support so the account relationship can be reviewed.
What if I accidentally changed something incorrectly? #
If the field can safely be corrected, restore the correct information and save the update.
If the change affects your account access, role, organization, child, classroom, or campaign relationship, contact DashPledge Support rather than making additional accounts or duplicate records.
Why don’t I see an option to edit something? #
Some information is intentionally controlled through another part of DashPledge.
For example:
- Campaign information → Campaign Settings
- Participant relationships → Fundraiser Participants
- Child fundraiser information → Parent fundraiser tools
- Stripe connection → Payout Setup
- Bank information → Manage Bank
If a field isn’t editable from your account settings, don’t create another account to work around the restriction.
Protecting your account information #
Never place sensitive credentials in ordinary account or profile fields.
Do not enter:
- DashPledge passwords
- Stripe passwords
- Online banking passwords
- Full payment card information
- Security codes
into profile descriptions, fundraiser messages, or support requests.
What if I need help changing my information? #
Contact DashPledge Support if:
- You no longer have access to your account email
- Your role appears incorrect
- Important account relationships disappear
- You cannot safely update required information
- You’re unsure which settings area should be used
Provide your account email and a description of what needs to be corrected.
Do not provide your password.
