Having trouble finding or claiming your child? #
If your child is participating in a DashPledge fundraiser but you can’t find or claim them, don’t create a duplicate child or a second parent account.
In most cases, the issue can be resolved by checking the school, teacher, and student information associated with the fundraiser.
1. Confirm you selected the correct school #
Start by checking the school selected during the claim process.
Make sure you’re using the school participating in your child’s current DashPledge fundraiser.
If you selected the wrong school, return to the previous step and choose the correct one.
2. Confirm your child’s teacher #
After selecting the school, choose the teacher associated with your child’s classroom.
The student list can depend on the selected teacher, so choosing the wrong teacher may prevent your child from appearing.
If you’re unsure which teacher to select, check the fundraiser information provided by your school.
3. Check your child’s information #
Look carefully at the participating students displayed for the selected school and teacher.
Your child’s information must already be included in the fundraiser roster before the child can be claimed.
If the child doesn’t appear, their roster information may not yet be available in DashPledge.
4. Check whether your child has already been claimed #
A child who has already been successfully claimed may no longer appear as available through the normal claim process.
If you believe you previously claimed the child, sign in to your existing DashPledge account and check your parent dashboard.
Avoid creating another account to try to claim the same child again.
5. Make sure you’re using the correct account #
If you’ve previously used DashPledge, sign in with your existing parent or guardian account.
Using a different email address or creating another account can make it harder to locate children you’ve already connected.
If you can’t access your existing account, visit Accounts & Login for help.
What if I can find my school but not my teacher? #
First, confirm that the correct school is selected.
If the teacher still doesn’t appear, possible reasons include:
- The teacher hasn’t yet been added to the fundraiser
- The teacher is associated with a different campaign
- The classroom information hasn’t yet been updated
- You may be looking under the wrong school or fundraiser
Do not create a new teacher record yourself.
What if I can find the teacher but not my child? #
If the correct teacher appears but your child doesn’t, the student’s roster information may not yet be associated with that classroom or fundraiser.
Check that you’re using the correct teacher and school.
If everything appears correct but the child is still missing, contact the school or fundraiser organizer or use DashPledge Support.
What if DashPledge says my child is already claimed? #
First, check whether the child is already connected to your existing DashPledge account.
If you believe the child was claimed by the wrong account or you don’t recognize the existing claim, don’t create another student or account.
Contact DashPledge Support so the claim can be reviewed safely.
What if I accidentally claimed the wrong child? #
Stop making changes to that child’s fundraiser and contact DashPledge Support.
Do not attempt to fix the problem by creating another account, another student, or another claim.
The incorrect relationship should be reviewed before additional changes are made.
What information should I provide when asking for help? #
To help resolve a child-claim issue, be prepared to provide information such as:
- Your role as the parent or guardian
- School name
- Teacher name
- Child’s name
- A brief description of what happens when you try to claim the child
- Any error message displayed
A screenshot can also be helpful.
Do not send your password or other sensitive account credentials.
Should I create a duplicate student? #
No.
Creating a duplicate student can cause problems with fundraising totals, reading minutes, achievements, classroom information, and fundraiser pages.
If the correct child cannot be found, ask for help instead of creating another student record.
Should I create another parent account? #
Usually, no.
If you already have a DashPledge parent or guardian account, continue using that account whenever possible.
Multiple eligible children can be connected to the same parent account.
What if I need to claim another child? #
If you’ve already claimed one child and another eligible child still needs to be connected, use Claim Another Child from your existing account.
See How to Claim Another Child on DashPledge for instructions.
