Understanding DashPledge payouts #
DashPledge payouts allow eligible fundraiser proceeds to move to the organization’s connected payout account.
Organizers can use the Payouts area of the Organizer Dashboard to review payout information and access their connected Stripe account when needed.
Fundraiser donations, DashPledge tips, payment-processing fees, refunds, and payouts are tracked separately so organizers can understand how campaign funds move through the platform.
Where can I view payouts? #
Sign in to your DashPledge Organizer Dashboard and select Payouts from the main navigation.
The Payouts page provides information about the funds associated with your organization’s fundraising activity.
Depending on the current payout activity, you may see information such as:
- Total payout amount
- Pending payouts
- Completed payouts
- Next payout information
- Payout history
- Connected Stripe account access
How does money reach my organization? #
DashPledge uses the organization’s connected Stripe account for payment and payout processing.
Eligible fundraiser proceeds are associated with the organization’s connected account and become available for payout according to the applicable payment and payout schedule.
The organization receiving the funds must have the appropriate Stripe connection and payout requirements completed.
What is the DashPledge payout schedule? #
DashPledge is designed to use a weekly Friday payout schedule for eligible organization funds.
The amount available for a particular payout can depend on when donations were processed, payment availability, refunds, disputes, and other applicable payment-processing conditions.
A donation made shortly before a scheduled payout may not necessarily be available in that payout.
What does Pending mean? #
A Pending payout has not yet completed.
Funds may remain pending while they are moving through the applicable payment-processing and payout process.
The exact timing can depend on Stripe and the organization’s connected account.
What does Completed mean? #
A Completed payout indicates that the applicable payout has been processed through the connected payout system.
The time it takes for funds to appear in the organization’s bank account can still depend on the financial institution receiving the payout.
What is Next Payout? #
When available, Next Payout helps organizers understand the upcoming payout timing or funds expected to be included in the next eligible payout cycle.
The displayed amount can change as additional eligible transactions become available or as refunds or other adjustments occur.
Does the DashPledge tip go to my organization? #
No.
The voluntary DashPledge tip is separate from the fundraiser donation and is not included in the organization’s fundraising payout total.
For example, if a donor makes:
Fundraiser donation: $50
DashPledge tip: $5
the $5 DashPledge tip should not be treated as $5 raised by the organization.
Are payment-processing fees included in the payout? #
Applicable payment-processing fees can affect the net amount associated with a transaction.
These fees are separate from DashPledge’s 0% platform fee.
DashPledge does not charge the organization a percentage-based DashPledge platform fee on the fundraiser donation, but payment-processing fees may still apply.
What happens when someone donates through the main campaign? #
An eligible donation made through the main campaign page contributes to the organization’s overall campaign.
The eligible fundraiser proceeds are associated with the organization’s connected fundraising and payout account.
What happens when someone donates through a student mini-fundraiser? #
A donation made through a student mini-fundraiser can contribute to:
- The student’s individual fundraising progress
- The overall campaign total
The money is not paid directly to the student.
The eligible fundraiser proceeds remain associated with the school or organization’s fundraising account and payout process.
Do students or parents receive payouts? #
No.
Student mini-fundraisers are participation and fundraising pages connected to the organization’s overall campaign.
Parents and students do not receive the fundraiser proceeds directly through their student fundraising page.
Eligible campaign proceeds are handled through the organization’s connected payout account.
What happens when a donation is refunded? #
A refund can affect the organization’s available or future payout information.
The effect can depend on when the original donation and refund occur relative to payment availability and payout processing.
DashPledge should preserve the original transaction and its refund status for accurate reporting rather than deleting the donation record.
Can a refund affect a future payout? #
Yes.
If a refund is processed before the applicable funds are paid out, it can reduce the amount available for payout.
If the timing is different, the payment processor may handle the adjustment according to the connected account and transaction status.
Review the applicable donation and payout information when investigating a refund.
What about disputes? #
Payment disputes can also affect available funds and payout activity.
If a transaction is disputed, the applicable payment processor and DashPledge administrative workflow may reflect the dispute and any resulting adjustment.
For transaction-specific questions, contact DashPledge Support.
Why is my payout less than the amount raised? #
The campaign’s amount raised and the organization’s net payout are not necessarily the same number.
Differences can result from factors such as:
- Applicable payment-processing fees
- Refunds
- Disputes
- Transaction availability
- Payout timing
The voluntary DashPledge tip is also excluded from the organization’s fundraising totals and payouts.
Why hasn’t a recent donation been paid out yet? #
A successfully completed donation does not necessarily become available for payout immediately.
Payment-processing availability and payout timing can affect when funds are included in an eligible payout.
Review your Payouts information and connected Stripe account for additional transaction and payout details.
What is Open Stripe? #
The Open Stripe option gives authorized organizers access to the connected Stripe experience available for their organization.
Stripe can provide additional information related to payment processing, balances, payouts, and connected-account requirements.
Only authorized organization users should access the organization’s Stripe account.
Why is Stripe asking for more information? #
Stripe may require information to verify the organization or individuals associated with the connected account.
These requirements can be related to payment processing, identity verification, banking, or regulatory requirements.
If Stripe indicates that information is required, follow the instructions provided through the connected Stripe experience.
Can DashPledge change my bank account? #
Banking and payout information should be managed through the secure connected-account experience provided for the organization.
Do not send bank passwords, complete banking credentials, or other sensitive financial information through ordinary DashPledge support messages.
What if my payout is missing? #
First, review the Payouts page and determine whether the payout is:
- Pending
- Completed
- Scheduled for a future payout
If it is marked completed but you don’t see the funds in the organization’s bank account, allow for applicable bank processing time and review the connected Stripe information.
If the payout still cannot be located, contact DashPledge Support.
What information should I provide when asking about a payout? #
Helpful information can include:
- Organization name
- Campaign name
- Approximate payout amount
- Expected payout date
- Payout status shown in DashPledge
- Description of the problem
Do not send:
- Online banking passwords
- Full bank account credentials
- Stripe passwords
- Payment card information
- Other sensitive financial credentials
Are payouts the same as campaign totals? #
No.
Campaign totals show eligible fundraising progress.
Payouts show the applicable movement of fundraiser proceeds through the organization’s connected payment account.
Use campaign progress to monitor fundraising performance and Payouts to monitor the organization’s payout activity.
