Troubleshooting fundraiser pages and sharing #
If a DashPledge fundraiser page doesn’t open, shows outdated information, or a sharing link or QR code goes to the wrong place, first determine whether you’re working with the main campaign page or a student mini-fundraiser page.
These are separate public pages with different purposes.
Main campaign vs. student mini-fundraiser #
The main campaign page represents the overall school or organization fundraiser.
A student mini-fundraiser page represents an individual participating student’s fundraiser and remains connected to the main campaign.
When troubleshooting a page or link, first identify which one you’re trying to open.
My main campaign page doesn’t open #
If you’re an organizer, open:
My Campaigns
Find the correct fundraiser and select View.
If the public page doesn’t open correctly, check:
- Campaign status
- Campaign start and end dates
- Publishing status
- Campaign Settings
- Campaign Health
You can also open:
Fundraiser Admin → Campaign Settings → Preview Fundraiser Page
to review the fundraiser.
My campaign changes aren’t showing publicly #
First, confirm that you selected Save Changes.
Then:
- Refresh the public fundraiser page.
- Open Preview Fundraiser Page.
- Confirm you’re viewing the correct campaign.
- Use Sync Campaign when an appropriate campaign change requires synchronization.
Do not repeatedly click Sync Campaign if the first appropriate sync doesn’t resolve the problem.
If the information still doesn’t update, contact DashPledge Support.
My campaign image isn’t updating #
Make sure the new image was successfully saved to the correct campaign.
Then preview the fundraiser again.
If the old image continues to appear, refresh the public page and check again.
Do not create another campaign simply to replace an image.
My campaign video isn’t showing #
If the fundraiser includes a video, confirm that the campaign has the correct video information saved.
Then use Preview Fundraiser Page to review the public experience.
If the video still doesn’t appear, contact DashPledge Support and identify the affected campaign.
My student’s fundraiser page doesn’t open #
First, confirm that the child has been successfully claimed by the appropriate parent or guardian.
Then confirm that the student’s fundraiser has completed the applicable setup and publishing process.
A student being present on the fundraiser roster does not automatically mean their individual fundraising page is already published.
My child is claimed, but the fundraiser page isn’t available #
Claiming and publishing are separate steps.
After claiming the child, the parent or guardian may still need to prepare and publish the child’s fundraiser.
Sign in to the parent account and review the child’s fundraiser status.
Do not claim the child again or create another student.
My student fundraiser shows the wrong information #
Make sure you’re viewing the correct child’s page.
If you have multiple participating children, each child can have their own fundraiser.
Check the child’s:
- Fundraiser story
- Photo, when permitted
- Fundraising goal
- Progress
- Campaign information
If information controlled by the parent is incorrect, use the available parent fundraiser controls.
If campaign-controlled information is wrong, the organizer may need to review the main campaign.
My student photo isn’t showing #
Student-photo visibility depends on the campaign’s applicable privacy settings.
If photos are disabled for the campaign, a student photo may not appear publicly even if an image has been provided.
Organizers can review applicable privacy options through Campaign Settings.
Do not change privacy settings simply to troubleshoot one student without considering the effect on the entire campaign.
My fundraiser link doesn’t work #
First, copy the link again from the appropriate DashPledge sharing tool.
Make sure the entire link is copied.
Then open it in a new browser tab.
If you’re sharing a student fundraiser, make sure the link belongs to the intended child.
My link opens the wrong student #
Stop sharing that link.
Return to the parent dashboard and select the intended child.
Copy that child’s fundraising link again and test it yourself before sending it to supporters.
Each published child fundraiser has its own public fundraising link.
My student link opens the main campaign instead #
Make sure you’re using the child’s individual sharing link rather than the organization’s main campaign link.
The two pages serve different purposes:
Main campaign link → overall organization fundraiser
Student mini-fundraiser link → individual student fundraiser
Use the appropriate link for the page you want supporters to reach.
My main campaign link opens a student fundraiser #
Return to My Campaigns as an organizer and use the campaign’s own Share or View action.
Do not use a link copied from a parent’s student fundraiser when sharing the overall organization campaign.
My QR code doesn’t work #
Scan the QR code yourself before distributing it.
Confirm that your device recognizes the code and opens a DashPledge fundraising page.
If nothing happens, try the corresponding direct fundraising link.
If the link works but the QR code doesn’t, regenerate or retrieve the correct QR code through the available DashPledge sharing tools.
My QR code opens the wrong fundraiser #
Stop distributing that QR code.
Determine whether you intended to share:
- The main campaign, or
- A particular student’s mini-fundraiser
Then retrieve the QR code associated with the correct fundraiser and test it before sharing it again.
Do siblings use the same QR code? #
No.
Each published child fundraiser can have its own fundraising page and individual QR code.
If you have multiple participating children, make sure you’re using the QR code associated with the correct child.
I edited the fundraiser after sharing the link #
Ordinary edits to an existing fundraiser should update that fundraiser rather than require you to create another one.
The existing public fundraiser URL should continue to identify the same fundraiser after ordinary content changes.
After editing:
- Save the changes.
- Refresh the public page.
- Test the existing link.
Do not create a new fundraiser simply because you edited the existing one.
Donations are showing on the campaign but not the student page #
First, determine where the donation was made.
A donation through the main campaign page contributes to the overall campaign but may not be associated with an individual student’s fundraising progress.
A donation through a student mini-fundraiser can contribute to both the student’s individual progress and the overall campaign.
If the donation was made through the correct student page but doesn’t appear as expected, contact DashPledge Support.
The student total is correct but the main campaign total is wrong #
Eligible student mini-fundraiser donations should roll up to the overall campaign.
Refresh the campaign and review the donation information.
If the underlying donations are correct but the campaign total remains incorrect, contact DashPledge Support rather than manually changing fundraising records.
The main campaign total is correct but the student total is wrong #
Confirm that the relevant donations were actually made through that student’s mini-fundraiser.
General donations made through the main campaign may not provide individual student fundraising credit.
If the correct student fundraiser was used but the total remains wrong, contact DashPledge Support.
The page looks different after an organizer changed settings #
Campaign Settings can affect the public fundraiser experience.
If a page changes unexpectedly, organizers should review:
Fundraiser Admin → Campaign Settings
Pay particular attention to settings related to:
- Fundraiser Page Settings
- Donation Settings
- Participation
- Privacy
Use Preview Fundraiser Page after making corrections.
The fundraiser says it is not active #
Check the campaign’s status and dates.
Organizers can review:
Fundraiser Admin → Campaign Settings → Campaign Goals & Dates
The fundraiser may be:
- Draft
- Upcoming
- Active
- Ended
Do not create another campaign simply because the existing fundraiser isn’t currently active.
Should I delete and recreate the fundraiser? #
Usually, no.
Deleting and recreating a fundraiser can cause problems with:
- Public URLs
- Student relationships
- Donations
- Activity
- Sharing links
- QR codes
- Reporting
Troubleshoot and correct the existing fundraiser whenever possible.
What information should I provide to Support? #
For a fundraiser-page or sharing problem, helpful information includes:
- School or organization
- Campaign
- Whether it is the main campaign or student mini-fundraiser
- Student, when applicable
- What page you expected
- What page actually appeared
- The affected sharing method
- Screenshot, when helpful
You can also explain whether the issue affects a direct link, QR code, or both.
